'Hood Honey wins 3rd at County Fair!

Blue Pike Farm Honey Wins 3rd Place Award.First year "Beez From The Hood" best blue blood bees from Bratenahl and 13 other entries!Honey from the 'ghetto beez' from hives located at Blue Pike Farm in the St. Clair Superior neighborhood competed for the first time at the Lorain County Fair in Wellington, OH. and flew away with a white ribbon for 3rd place in the Extracted Honey Category: "Extra White."Blue Pike Farm's Carl Skalak was pleased to hear the news and exclaimed: "Award winning honey from bees in the city. Who would have bee-lieved it?"The hives and it's bees are owned and managed by Blue Pike Farm's official Apiarist, Karin Wishner.Karin's Apiary also took first place in the "Water White" category and was awarded the highest score of all 68 entries in Extracted Honey competition.Karin is no stranger to winning awards for her honey. Last year as a first year bee keeper she took a total of 6 awards at the Lorain county Fair for her honey and honey related products.This is only Karin's 2nd year keeping bees and her 5th year with the Lorain County Beekeeper's Association where she is currently Vice President.
